Govt urges schools to keep premises clean in bid to tackle dengue

Kolkata: The state School Education department has instructed all the schools to keep their premises clean to prevent the spread of dengue. In a bid to make the drives against dengue successful, awareness campaigns among the students will be carried out. The Chief Minister has already sounded a red alert as many people have been afflicted with the disease in several districts. Due to change in weather conditions, the mosquitoes have changed their breeding season and along with Aedes Egypti, Aedes Albopictus have been found that also cause dengue. They maintained that the municipalities should involve local people and the holes in tree trunks need to be covered with clay.
