11 year old dies of dengue at Park Circus hospital

Kolkata: An 11-year-old boy reportedly died of dengue at a private hospital in Park Circus on Wednesday. His health condition deteriorated fast. Hospital authorities in the death certificate mentioned that the patient had been suffering from severe dengue. The conservancy workers from the civic bodies are conducting a massive crackdown on all the potential mosquito breeding areas. The family members of the victims alleged that all the 15 persons were administered wrong injection following which their health condition deteriorated.

Kolkata: An 11-year-old boy reportedly died of dengue at a private hospital in Park Circus on Wednesday. The victim, identified as Rahul Mallick, a student of class VIII and a resident of Moulavi lane in the New Market of the city was admitted with high fever. His health condition deteriorated fast. Hospital authorities in the death certificate mentioned that the patient had been suffering from severe dengue. The health department is yet to confirm if it was a dengue death. It may be mentioned here that the Kolkata Municipal Corporation and various other civic bodies across the state have taken up a massive anti dengue campaign. Awareness is being spread among the people to check the prevalence of the incidents. People are being urged to ensure that there is no accumulated water in the locality. The conservancy workers from the civic bodies are conducting a massive crackdown on all the potential mosquito breeding areas. All the health clinics run by the civic bodies have been asked to remain alert in the wake of the rising cases of dengue in the state. In a separate incident, around 15 persons out of total 29 who were admitted to the Dhubulia primary health centre with fever and vomiting, have been shifted to the Shaktinagar district hospital on Wednesday after their health condition deteriorated. The family members of the victims alleged that all the 15 persons were administered wrong injection following which their health condition deteriorated. The family members of the patients claimed all of them were admitted with similar symptoms and they were administered an injection on Tuesday.
