Kolkata: A 16-year-old boy was found hanging inside his flat at the Bidhan Sishu Udyan Police Housing Complex on Monday afternoon. According to police, the boy studied in class XI at a government school in College Street area. His mother works in the Kolkata Police and is posted in the Central Division. On Monday, at around 1 pm, the deceaseds mother returned home from her duty and found the door of the quarter locked from inside. Despite repeated knocks, her son did not respond. She sought help from her neighbours and after the door was broken open, she saw the boy hanging from the ceiling fan. Seeing her sons body, the inconsolable mother became unconscious. She was rushed to a private hospital on Eastern Metropolitan Bypass near Kadapara where she is admitted. Later, Maniktala police station was informed. The body was recovered and has been sent for autopsy examination. As the deceased boys mother is not in a state to talk, the cops are waiting for her to become stable. Locals claimed that the boy was a good student and was popular in the housing.
