Kolkata: The Trinamool Congress will organise Sampriti Yatra across the state from October 19 to 24 and will exchange Bijaya greetings with common people. The block presidents have been directed to hold such programmes in their respective blocks in an effort to increase outreach. "We had a meeting with the block presidents today (Tuesday). We will organise Sampriti Yatra and try to involve more and more people," TMC secretary general Partha Chatterjee said. According to a senior TMC leader, 600 block presidents and town presidents of the party will be visiting more than 2,000 villages and wards across the state as part of the on-ground campaign of Didi Ke Bolo from Wednesday. "They will interact with the local residents and inform the citizens about the Didi Ke Bolo platform and how they can use and get benefitted from it. During the interaction, the leaders will listen to their suggestions and address their problems with priority. In case, there are issues that cannot be resolved, the leader will be responsible for bringing it to the notice of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and her office," he added. The initiative that was launched by Banerjee on July 29 is unique as it provides a platform to every citizen of the state to directly connect with her. Using this platform, people can reach out to her, by simply calling on 9137091370 or by logging onto www.didikebolo.com, with their suggestions and problems. Thus, with this platform she is just a call away from every citizen. The objective of this initiative is to improve citizen participation and engagement by providing a platform to every citizen to share their suggestions and problems for expedited action. Didi Ke Bolo aims to reach at least 80 percent of the households in the state to inform and engage them with initiative over the next 20 months. MLAs and a number of senior leaders have already taken part in the Didi Ke Bolo programme and innumerable grievances have been addressed through the platform.
