MeT office predicts more rain in next 24 hours

The MeT office also predicted that the city and the adjoining districts, particularly the coastal areas, will receive some more rainfall in the next 24 hours. The city's temperature may drop by a few notches in the next couple of days. The temperature will fluctuate in the next couple of days till the winter officially sets in. According to the weather office, the highest temperature in the city may hover around 32 degree Celsius in the next couple of days while the lowest temperature may drop to 22 degree Celsius during the night hours.

Kolkata: The South-West Monsoon has officially withdrawn from the state on Tuesday but moderate to heavy showers lashed various South Bengal districts including the city on Wednesday afternoon. The Regional Meteorological Centre had however, predicted that there may be light showers in the coastal districts. The citys sky turned cloudy in the afternoon and heavy showers hit different parts of Kolkata. The spells did not last for too long. Districts like North 24-Parganas, South 24-Parganas, Hooghly, Howrah, Murshidabad, East and West Midnapore received thundershowers along with lightning. The MeT office also predicted that the city and the adjoining districts, particularly the coastal areas, will receive some more rainfall in the next 24 hours. Kolkata sky will mostly remain cloudy on Thursday as well. The weather office also said that the humidity level may continue to haunt the city dwellers during the day while the temperature may slightly drop during the late evening hours as there has been a change in the weather system in the state following the retreat of the Monsoon. The citys temperature may drop by a few notches in the next couple of days. The temperature will fluctuate in the next couple of days till the winter officially sets in. The fluctuating temperature is common during the transition period as the Monsoon starts withdrawing from the state. The city dwellers will also feel dryness in the weather and a discomfort due to the relative humidity during the day time. The temperature will drop at night. According to the weather office, the highest temperature in the city may hover around 32 degree Celsius in the next couple of days while the lowest temperature may drop to 22 degree Celsius during the night hours.
