Kolkata: The station master of Diamond Harbour railway station in South 24 Parganas district was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a drain near his rented house on Sunday. According to police sources, the local people identified him as station master Nirmal Kumar on Monday. Prima facie, police are suspecting it to be a murder. As per sources, Kumar, who hailed from neighbouring Bihar, went to the local market on Saturday, but did not return till late. "His body was found in a drain on Sunday, but none could identify him then. Later on Monday, he was recognised by the local people," said a source. As per police, they are yet to find out the cause of death. Sources said he used to stay at the rented house alone, but recently his wife and brother-in-law had shifted there. Police said they are examining his relatives and suspect that he didnt share good relationship with his brother-in-law. "Local sources told us that he had left his house in anger after having a fight with his family. We are yet to verify the claims. Probe is on," said a police officer.
