The Governor, who had wondered why there was "hush-hush business over Singur," visited the office of the Block Development Officer (BDO) at Singur on Friday. Reacting to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's statement on Thursday that "there are some persons who are working as the mouthpieces of BJP," Dhankhar said: "The Chief Minister should have written to me instead of making statements before the media." Bhattacharya said: "When there was movement in Singur, neither did the Governor show any interest in the movement, nor did he come to the state. Only he can say why he has visited Singur now." "The Indian Constitution says that there shall be a council of ministers headed by the Chief Minister to aid and advice the Governor.

Kolkata: The rift between Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar and the state government once again came out in the open with president of Trinamool Mahila Congress Chandrima Bhattacharya reacting sharply to the statement made by the former on Friday. The Governor, who had wondered why there was "hush-hush business over Singur," visited the office of the Block Development Officer (BDO) at Singur on Friday. He said he would like to visit Nandigram as well. Reacting to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjees statement on Thursday that "there are some persons who are working as the mouthpieces of BJP," Dhankhar said: "The Chief Minister should have written to me instead of making statements before the media." Bhattacharya said: "When there was movement in Singur, neither did the Governor show any interest in the movement, nor did he come to the state. Only he can say why he has visited Singur now." This is mandatory," maintained the Trinamool Mahila Congress president, who is also an acclaimed lawyer.
