Over 850 held for violating lockdown norms in 1 day

Kolkata: More than 850 persons were arrested across the city for violating the restriction norms imposed by the state and Central government, from Tuesday evening till Wednesday evening.
On Wednesday, police started naka checking and forced several people who had been found on the streets for no reason and non-essential purposes to return home.
Anyone found trying to justify non-essential needs are being forced to return or are being arrested.
Meanwhile, amidst checking in the city, a Sub-Inspector (SI) of Bidhannagar Police was reportedly heckled by a woman while performing naka checking.
All three of them were arrested later for assaulting police, disobeying orders by police, violating restriction norms and other allegations.
