Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday pledged her full support to any action that the government of India takes in response to Chinese aggression at the border. Speaking to media persons at the state secretariat, Mamata Banerjee said merely banning Chinese apps will not be enough. "Only banning some apps will not give the results. We want to give China a befitting reply and how we do it, that the government has to decide," Mamata Banerjee said. "Otherwise people of this country might question the government`s stand," the Bengal chief minister said while seeking an "aggressive response" from the Centre. "If the government takes any stand against China, we want it to be implemented without any exceptions. We have to be very aggressive," CM Mamata Banerjee added.

Clarifying her party`s stand on the matter, Mamata Banerjee said it was the Trinamool Congress`s (TMC) policy to not interfere in matters involving India`s external relations. "We never interfere in external affairs issue. Our party`s stand is clear, we fully support the government`s stand regarding this," she said, reminding that it was the time to act and the Centre was free to use whichever means it deems suitable -- aggression or negotiation -- for the motherland.
