Like Tagore, Ray, too, was a man of many hats and the hats flowed with shining feathers. Though the world mainly knows him as the creator of some of the most elegant films ever made, Ray has left some writings on Tagore. KOLKATA: To mark the 95th birth anniversary of Satyajit Ray, Victoria Memorial Hall (VMH) recently organized an exhibition titled Ray and the City, in the Portrait Gallery.The exhibition, inaugurated by Partha Ghose, chairman, Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, featured 47 rare black and white photographs by the veteran photographer Sunil K. Dutt, capturing Ray at work and at home, as well as vignettes of the city that has featured so tellingly in his work.Dutt said he had noticed a special space Ray nurtured in his heart for Rabindranath Tagore.
