ITC to foray into healthcare segment

ITC said that this initiative would leverage its knowledge and experience in the hospitality and tourism sector and can be utilised for supporting 'medical tourism’ for the country. Known mostly for cigarettes, ITC has been marking an increasing presence in hotels, paper, agri-business and a slew of non-cigarette FMCG segments. It is also open to lease, acquire or manage organisations in the healthcare business, the company said in a regulatory filing. Healthcare is a new diversification, which was approved by the Board at the meeting on third quarter results.
