Wells were chlorinated and ward-level health squads were formed in Thalakkulathur grama panchayat in the district after 25 people were diagnosed with jaundice at Parambath in the past two days. Task force meetingIn a press release, District Medical Officer V. Jayashree said that health activists and Accredited Social Health Activists were part of the health squads. Those who are diagnosed with jaundice should not prepare or serve food and they should wash their hands regularly, the release added. The district-level task force of the Health Department would hold a meeting on Wednesday to take stock of the situation. The public has been advised to ensure hygiene while consuming food, and vessels should be tightly closed with lid.
