Besides National Sample Survey Organisation (NSSO) personnel, representatives of the Department of Economics and Statistics (DES) from the seven northern districts also will attend the training. The 76th round of National Sample Survey (NSS) for exclusive collection of data on economic and operational characteristics of persons with disabilities, drinking water, sanitation, hygiene and housing conditions will commence next month. The results of the survey will also meet the data requirement of National Institution for Transforming India (NITI) Aayog, Housing and Urban Development Corporation, Water Aid India, UNICEF and WHO . The statistical indicators derived on the basis of the survey are required for planning and policy making for persons with disabilities. The DES is participating in NSS by conducting the survey in an equal number of households as covered by NSSO.
