If you ever thought that you are a big fan of Football or FIFA World Cup 2018, this man featured in the article will break your heart. He cycled from India to Russia just to watch FIFA 2018 final
FIFA World Cup 2018 is around the corner and football fans just can`t contain their excitement. While some are glued to their TVs, others are finding ways to watch the game live. One such super fan is from Kerala, Clifin Francis.
Clifin cycled his way to Russia to attend just a single match of the ongoing tournament.
Yes, you read it right. The man travelled from India to Russia and even now he has a long way to go. Mathematics teacher by profession, the 28-year-old started his journey on February 23, after saving money for a few months.
Francis first reached Dubai via flight. He then bought a cycle and rode nearly 4000km across UAE, Iran, Azerbaijan and reached Russia, and is now on his way to Moscow(700 KM).
The reason behind this adventure is his love for football and money crisis. "I loved football since childhood and Argentina is my favourite team. Watching a World Cup was my dream but it is very expensive. I will watch a group match between France and Denmark, spend some days in Russia and return home on my cycle," Francis told TOI in an interview.
Francis wants to get a signature of his favourite Lionel Messi on his overworked cycle. We hope his wish comes true.
