The Health Department has issued an alert against outbreak of contagious diseases in the post-floods scenario. Meanwhile, a 24-hour control room has been opened at the district medical office to collect data and coordinate activities against the outbreak of contagious diseases. The Department has also issued an advisory against the outbreak of leptospirosis. Consumption of doxycycline tablets once a day for six weeks is advised a day before starting the cleaning works. The Department and the National Health Mission are holding medical camps at many places and special camps were held at Malapparamba and Olavanna.
