The programme titled ‘Vara Vara Varolsavam’ was organised by the Crayon Art Club of the school. Students were involved in creating, framing and selling the paintings to raise funds for their friends left with flood-ravaged houses. Around 200 members of the art club took part in the event and most paintings were sold off on the spot. The paintings, related to nature and upholding the message of conservation, were sold for sums ranging from ?100 to ?500. Hundreds of paintings by students of JDT Islam High School were sold on the Kozhikode beach on Sunday evening to raise funds to repair or reconstruct houses damaged in the recent floods.
