Local bodies to raise funds for CMDRF

Representatives of the local bodies will conduct sittings at seven centres in the district for fund mobilisation. Ramakrishnan has urged the people’s representatives from all over the district to get involved personally in mobilising funds for the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF). He was speaking at a meeting of local body representatives in the district in Kozhikode on Monday. The Minister urged the representatives to personally meet prospective donors and request donations. Pointing out the efforts taken by people from various walks of society to mobilise funds, he said that as people's representatives, they needed to do their bit.

Representatives of the local bodies will conduct sittings at seven centres in the district for fund mobilisation. Sitting schedule The first sitting will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at Feroke on September 10 while another will be held at the Kozhikode collectorate from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. The Vadakara sitting will be from 9 a.m. to noon on September 11 while the Kuttiady sitting will be on the same day from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. The Thamarassery sitting will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on September 13 while the Mukkam sitting will be held from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the same day. The Koyilandy sitting will be on September 15. The public can go to any convenient centre to hand over their contributions to the authorities. The Minister said that more centres would be added if there was a need. The local body representatives were also asked to pay attention to the leptospirosis situation and to ensure that the Public Health Centres under them worked till 5 p.m. They were also asked to ensure the availability of the preventive tablets to everyone and to ensure that they consumed them. M.K. Muneer, MLA, suggested administering medicines for burning sensation in the chest along with the Doxycycline tablets to fight leptospirosis as many people were experiencing burning sensation in the chest after the tablet was consumed.
