S.M. Street gets police aid-post

The operational cost of the booth will be borne by the District Tourism Promotion Council, officials said. The counter will be functional from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Policemen from the Town Station will be posted at the facility. The police on Friday opened a new aid-post at the renovated S.M. Circle Inspector A. Umesh, who is also the Station House Officer at Town Station, said the aid-post would primarily function as a general information counter, besides handling law and order responsibilities. Muneer, MLA, and Mayor Thottathil Raveendran jointly inaugurated the new service, which was introduced with the support of the Tourism Department.
