Forest Department officials on Friday arrested three more suspects in the Peruvannamoozhi bison hunting case. Six others who were suspected of having larger involvement in the case had already been arrested by the investigation team. Around 30 persons were suspected of sharing the meat weighing around 150 kg. They said the arrest of Siju Kizhakkayil, 40, his brother Shinu, 36, and brother-in-law Valiyaveetil Varghese was recorded after they surrendered at the Peruvannamoozhi Forest Range Office by noon. Earlier, the Forest squad had claimed that it had seized a knife that the hunters had used to cut the bison’s meat for local distribution.
