Civic body to place ban on disposable cutlery

The decision comes ahead of the corporation’s proposed blanket ban on single-use plastic materials including carry bags. The council also approved the 15-member apex committee and corporation-level high-level committee which were formed to ensure an elderly-friendly Kozhikode. Disposable cups and plates, made of thermocol and plastic, will soon be banned within the corporation limits.
