| Photo Credit: S. RAMESH KURUPChief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said that the priority of the government was to modernise the Department of Fire and Rescue Services. An amount of ?10 crore, sourced from the Central Disaster Management Authority, has helped the government purchase modern equipment and vehicles for the department, the Chief Minister said. Similarly, a sum of ?12 crore has been set aside for purchasing hydraulic ladders to reach multi-storey buildings in case of accidents. A fire force officer inspecting a shop on S.M. “The government has allocated ?39 crore in the Budget for the modernisation programme ,” Mr. Vijayan said while commissioning the fire station at Koyilandy in the district on Saturday.
