more-in Tathva-2017, a three-day techno-management meet drew to a close at the National Institute of Technology, Calicut (NIT-C) on Sunday. Interface, a business management event, and Robo Wars, a show unveiling the possibilities in robotics, marked the culmination of the annual fest. Kartik Sheth, an Indian-origin astrophysicist now working at the NASA Headquarters in Washington, led the valedictory sessions. Mr. Sheth explained the evolution of galaxies, the nuances of the formation of barred galaxies, and the reasons for its fractional increase with time. The organisers said an integral part of the three-day show that hosted more than 50 different events was the formative exhibitions put up by various technological departments within and outside the college. A hundred saplings were planted in and around the campus to mark the fest. ‘Love Locks’ was another initiative undertaken to donate hair for cancer patients. Exclusive workshops on artificial intelligence, quadcopter, Internet of Things, sixth sense technology and swarm robotics were the highlights of the event. The organisers said nearly 2,000 students took part in the workshops steered by eminent resource persons in the field. Tathva also evoked the participation of architecture students with an exclusive show named Adizya. ‘Expo de Casa’, a panel presentation on residence designing and ‘That’s My spot’, an event where aspiring architects competed in designing an imaginary dwelling space of a popular cartoon character doubled the charm of contests. For gamers, there was another event titled ‘Blitzkrieg’. ‘Bizpark’ was the formal event organised for management gurus.
