Man offers Rs 11k for blackening Tharoorrsquos face

AGRA: A Muslim youth leader from Aligarh on Thursday announced a reward of Rs 11,000 to anyone who blackens the face of Congress leader Shashi Tharoor , who has sparked a controversy with his statement that India will become a “Hindu Pakistan” if BJP wins the 2019 elections Condemning Tharoor’s statement, Mohammad Ameer Rashid , who is the president of Muslim Youth Association in Aligarh, said the Congress leader has not only hurt the sentiments of Hindus but also Muslim nationalists. “Hindu-Muslim unity is our cultural heritage and Tharoor has tried to defame it,” said Rashid, adding that it was a direct attack on Hindu culture.He said, “India’s people will never forgive him (Tharoor) and his party for such a baseless statement”. He added that if Tharoor loves Pakistan so much then he should move there.Tharoor, on Wednesday, had stated at an event in Thiruvananthapuram that “our” democratic Constitution will not survive if BJP wins a repeat in the Lok Sabha elections, as they have all elements needed to tear apart the Constitution of India and write a new one.He further stated that the new Constitution will be the one which will enshrine the principles of Hindu Rashtra, which will remove equality for minorities and will create a Hindu Pakistan , which was not what Mahatama Gandhi, Nehru, Sardar Patel, Maulana Azad and the great heroes of India’s freedom struggle fought for.
