LUCKNOW: Dreaded west UP don Sunil Rathi , accused of killing Prem Prakash Singh alias Munna Bajrangi in Baghpat district jail would be shifted to Fatehgarh Central Jail on Saturday, said senior jail officials on Friday.Rathi is lodged in Baghpat jail for over an year after being shifted from Roorkee prison. Additional director general (prisons) Chandra Prakash said, "We analysed the situation and decided to shift Rathi to Fatehgarh jail as it is a central jail and is highly secure as its security measures have been enhanced in recent past." Prakash had written to state government recommending shifting Rathi to another jail.Prakash had earlier written to state government recommending shifting Rathi to another jail as he had a clout in Baghpat and enjoyed some privileges in jail. He said the prison department has prepared a list of gangsters and is analysing details for shifting prisoners from one jail to another. Besides, no member of Munna Bajrangi gang or any rival gang is lodged in Fatehgarh central jail.The earlier plan of shifting Rathi to Lucknow district jail was shelved after it surfaced that some Bajrangi’s men were already lodged there.An official also said that many other dreaded gangsters lodged in all 71 jails across the state could be shifted in view of Bajrangi’s killing.
