LUCKNOW: Two minor domestic helps of a prominent furniture businessman tried to kill him, his wife and grandson by serving them vegetable and milk laced with sleeping pills on Friday night at their Mahanagar residence in the city.Jagdish Prasad Agrawal, who lives with his wife Sheela and their daughter's son in a colony near Reserve Police Lines in Mahanagar, had employed two domestic helps, both minor, for household work.ASP (trans-Gomti) Harendra Kumar said that the helps mixed sleeping pills in ridge gourd vegetable and served it to Jagdish and then mixed same pill in milk and served it to his wife Sheela and grandson Lakshya.SHO Vikas Pandey said the domestic helps planned to kill the businessman and his family. "On Friday, around 8pm, the miscreants served food laced with sleeping pills to the family members who fell unconscious," he said. The incident came to light when some relatives came to visit Agarwals and found them lying unconscious. They informed other relatives and rushed Jagdish, Sheela and Lakshya to a hospital in Gomtinagar."Initial probe hinted at the role of the two domestic helps. A police team visited the house and detained both. Jagdish and other two victims are yet to regain consciousness," he said.ASP Harendra Kumar said that the two minors helps are 14 and 16 years old."The 14-year-old help hails from Sitapur and has been working for the past one year while the 16-year-old from Firozabad had been employed two months ago," claimed Kumar.
