Fans pool money hire projectors for FIFA final

LUCKNOW: Ritwick Srivastava, a die-hard soccer fan had been saving money since last four years just to fly to Russia and see the FIFA 2018 final.He has just begun his career in law but could not resist the urge and spent all his savings. Ritwick and some of his friends have flown to Russia.Many more football fans had also booked flights to see the match live.Others who could not dare as much, pooled in money to arrange a projector for seeing the match live with their neighbours in their colonies.Pawan Singh of Halwasiya Colony said, "The RWA has rented a projector for Sunday night by pooling money from society members. We have also arranged snacks and drinks."Similarly, societies in Kalyanpur, Charbagh and Gomtinagar put up rented projectors on Saturday and Sunday. Huzaif-ur-Rehman of Kalyanpur said, "We paid Rs 2,500 rent for each night to see the matches. All members are excited for the final."Many others have booked tables in cafes and multiplex to see the final.Arman Bahadur of Vikasnagar said, "I am very excited as Croatia will give France a tough competition. I have booked seats in a cafe. I and my friends are going to enjoy the match on Sunday."Bittoo Rupani of Hazratganj said, "I will be watching the match with my father."Anmol Agarwal of Rajajipuram said, "I will be watching the final with my friends on home theatre." Abhijeet Mishra has even bought France jersey to wear on the day.A boys' college has organised live screening of the match on its terrace for boarders and alumni.Prashast Saxena, a pass out, said, "I will be going to my school for the live screening of FIFA final."Swapnil Tripathi says, "This World Cup was full of surprises as all big teams and big players are out. The match is going to be really interesting. If Croatia win, it will be a major upset and will be a historic moment."Even girls are excited for the final match. Afreen Qureshi, a football lover, said, "Final will be fun.
