Firm employee stages loot of Rs 9 lakh arrested

LUCKNOW: An employee of Forex India Limited at Tej Kumar Plaza in Hazratganj was arrested on Thursday evening for staging a loot to usurp Rs 9 lakh of the company. Police also recovered the empty bag.Prabhakar said his salary was just Rs 5,000 while his expenses had risen and so he planned to stage the loot. Police later recovered the cash from the washroom.SSP Kalanidhi Naithani said company owner Praveen had lodged a case but probe revealed that staffer Prabhakar had staged the loot. On being interrogated, Prabhakar confessed to staging the loot and disclosed that he had emptied the bag in the washroom at the office and hid the cash there before throwing the empty bag. The accused was identified as Varun Prabhakar of Khandari Bazaar locality in Kaiserbagh.He was asked to deposit the cash in ICICI Bank branch near DRM office in Hazrataganj around 1pm on Thursday.

The accused was identified as Varun Prabhakar of Khandari Bazaar locality in Kaiserbagh.He was asked to deposit the cash in ICICI Bank branch near DRM office in Hazrataganj around 1pm on Thursday. Around 1.30pm, he dialled police control room informing that two bike-borne miscreants wearing helmets attacked with a blade and looted the bag from him after slashing his right hand.The control room relayed the message to Hazratganj police station and senior police officials started arriving at the Hazratganj Kotwali. ASP (east) Sarvesh Mishra and circle officer Abhay Mishra supervised the investigation and sent a team led by cyber cell in charge Vijay Veer Singh Sirohi and inspector Anand Sahi to collect footage of CCTV cameras around the crime scene.On scanning the footage, the police doubted the loot claim of Prabhakar. On being interrogated, Prabhakar confessed to staging the loot and disclosed that he had emptied the bag in the washroom at the office and hid the cash there before throwing the empty bag.
