LUCKNOW: A 34-year-old man from Aashiana tested positive for dengue on Thursday.Admitted to Civil hospital on July 13, he was referred to King George’s Medical University (KGMU) on Tuesday.The chief medical officer (CMO) was informed on Thursday.With this, 34 cases of dengue have been reported in Lucknow district from January to now. We will pursue larvacide spraying around the patient’s home in Aashiana again. Our rapid response team (RRT) will visit the area for scanning any fever patients in the vicinity and make slides for testing.” Dr Tripathi added, “All such people who have fever for more than two days will be given medicines too.”A total of 290 positive dengue cases were reported from Lucknow district in 2017 with four patients having lost their lives to the disease. No person has died of the mosquito-borne disease as yet.With the health department claiming that 600 houses are being sprayed with larvacide chemicals daily, in charge of the vectorborne diseases control unit Dr KP Tripathi said, “The patient is doing well and no other family member has fever.
