Blackmailed girl lover among 3 held for murder

LUCKNOW: The crime branch arrested three persons, including a girl, and claimed to have solved the July 18 murder of a man of Sarojininagar area. Kamal sought help from his friend Bablu.On July 18, Rajni called Ganga near a farmhouse and kept him engaged in talks till Kamal and Bablu arrived. Police put the number on surveillance and identified Kamal and Bablu and arrested them from Nigohan.Rajni pleaded innocence saying she did not attack the deceased. Kamal attacked Ganga with iron rod and then they slashed his throat and stabbed him in the chest till they were sure that he had died. Kamal and Bablu fled on Ganga's bike and abandoned it in Kalu Kheda.Police got lead in the case when they found Rajni's number in Ganga Sagar's call log.

Police said that the deceased Ganga Sagar was killed as he was blackmailing the girl, daughter of his brother in-law, after he caught her with a youth in a compromising state some time ago.The girl Rajni (name changed), her lover Kamal of Nigohan and their aide Bablu, also of Nigohan, were arrested on Saturday by crime branch sleuths of Lucknow Police. The blood-stained clothes of the attackers, a blood-stained iron rod and knife and the motorcycle used in crime were also recovered.Police said that Ganga Sagar came to know about Rajni's relations with Kamal and caught them in a compromising position once. He started blackmailing Rajni by threatening to expose her relations with Kamal and forced her into submission.ASP (crime) Dinesh Kumar Singh said that Rajni got fed up with Ganga and planned his murder.
