Ghazipur: 3 injured in blaze caused by gas leak

The three injured are critical and are undergoing treatment at Civil hospital.The house is owned by Santosh Shukla, a contractor, who lives with his wife Jaya Shukla (37) and two sons Yash (13) and Dhruv (6). However, as the leak increased and flames soared, her father-in-law Ram Shukla came to pull her out.A neighbour, Sushil Singh Chauhan heard calls of help and saw the flames. Santosh who was on ground floor also rushed upstairs.Indiranagar fire station officer Uma Kant said, "One fire tender was dispatched from Ghazipur. He quickly dialled police and fire station and rushed to rescue. Firemen rescued Jaya and her father while the neighbour Sushil rescued Ram Shukla.SHO Ghazipur Sujeet Rai took the injured to KGMU Trauma Centre from where they were referred to Civil hospital.

LUCKNOW: Three members of a family, including a woman, suffered serious burns after a fire broke out in their two-storey house in C-Block, Indiranagar, under Ghazipur police station on Saturday. The fire broke out due to leakage in cooking gas cylinder. The three injured are critical and are undergoing treatment at Civil hospital.The house is owned by Santosh Shukla, a contractor, who lives with his wife Jaya Shukla (37) and two sons Yash (13) and Dhruv (6). Santosh's father Ram Shukla (78) also lives with them while Jaya's father Ramesh Chandra Tripathi (62) had come to visit them and was in the house.At around 8.30am, Jaya was cooking food in the kitchen when she notices smell of LPG and called her father for help. However, as the leak increased and flames soared, her father-in-law Ram Shukla came to pull her out.A neighbour, Sushil Singh Chauhan heard calls of help and saw the flames. He quickly dialled police and fire station and rushed to rescue. Santosh who was on ground floor also rushed upstairs.Indiranagar fire station officer Uma Kant said, "One fire tender was dispatched from Ghazipur. It took us 15 minutes to douse the fire."
