5k cops to shore up security for PMs 2day visit

The airport officials have been directed to ensure proper parking of vehicles to keep way clear for VVIP fleet, delegates and passengers. Airport authority has been directed to ensure separate lounge and arrival section for VVIP and VIP delegates and business tycoons. DM has also directed LESA to ensure 24-hour power supply. The traffic will be maintained by three SPs, six Dy SPs, 12 traffic inspectors, 350 traffic sub-inspectors, 500 traffic head constables, and 1,100 traffic constables.The district administration has also geared up preparations for PM's visit and the July 29 ground breaking ceremony for which 2,100 delegates are likely to arrive. The administration has ordered ARTO and traffic police to keep autorickshaws and e-rickshaws away from all VIP travel routes.District magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma has asked Lucknow development authority (LDA) to coordinate with Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) for ensuring that there is no waterlogging in Hazratganj, MG Road, Jail road, Park road and VIP route areas in case of heavy rainfall.LDA and LMC have been directed to inspect street lights and ensure decoration with fancy lights.National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) officials have been directed to ensure that there are no potholes on Shaheed Path and linked highways.

LUCKNOW: The city would turn into a fortress for Prime Minister Narendra Modi 's two day July 28-29 visit with over 5,000 security personnel being deployed in the state capital from July 27.UP police would also deploy a special strike force and Quick Response Team (QRT) to tackle any kind of eventuality while 20 teams of Local Intelligence Unit would be in field along with dog squads.Sleuths of Special Protection Group, National Security Guard , Anti-Terrorism Squad and Central Industrial Security Force would be stationed at all vital points of PM's travel in the city during the visit.Nine SPs, 30 ASPs, 71 Dy SPs, 81 inspectors, 519 sub-inspectors, 38 women sub-inspectors, 292 head constables, 300 constables and 218 lady constables of UP Police would be on duty to ensure an event-free visit while 13 companies of Provincial Armed Constabulary and one platoon of central forces would reinforce the security set up.
