LUCKNOW: Self proclaimed descendant of King Bahadur Shah Zafar Yakub Habeebuddin Tucy on Sunday in a letter to Hindu Mahasabha sought apology from the entire Hindu community for what he called was the destruction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya in 1528 by the commander of his ancestors army.Tucy in his letter claimed that it was his ancestor Babar's commander Mir Baqi who had destroyed the Ayodhya situated Ram temple in the 16th century. "I am the sixth generation descendant of Babar and by that position I apologise form the bottom of my heart, to the entire Hindu community and to all Ram devotees for the destruction. I say this in all my consciousness and I will stand by construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya by all means possible," wrote Tucy.Handing over the letter to Swami Chakrapani Maharaj , national president of the Hindu Mahasabha, Tucy said, "Even Babar in his will had condemned the act and had called it a blot. He had instead asked for respect to be given to the saints and Mahatmas and protection of temples in the country."Tucy through his letter also appealed to all Muslim petitioners in the Ram Janmbhoomi-Babri Masjid title suit, to stop doing politics in the name of Babri Masjid. "They should all take their petitions back and instead help in the construction of the Ram temple so that an example of HIndu-Muslim unity is set.
