Girls claim 80 medals at Lucknow University

Overall, girls have again swept the tally by grabbing more than 80% of the medals.LU has invited objections to the tentative medal list before September 22. "Students have been given 5 days to raise objection after which final medal list will be released. LUCKNOW: As per the tentative medal list declared by Lucknow University for annual convocation on Monday, Raksha Devi, the topper of mathematics department, has been awarded 12 gold medals in different categories, highest in the university. The names of winners of coveted Chancellor's Gold medal, vice-chancellor's gold medal and Chakravarti medal will be declared later," said controller of examination A K Sharma.University Grants Commission chairperson Prof D P Singh will be the chief guest at LU's convocation. A total of 186 medals will be awarded in the convocation on October 9.

Overall, girls have again swept the tally by grabbing more than 80% of the medals.LU has invited objections to the tentative medal list before September 22. A total of 186 medals will be awarded in the convocation on October 9. As many as 153 medals have been bagged by girls and 33 by boys.Raksha Devi has won medals for being the highest scorer in mathematics department, scoring maximum marks in 2018, being best student of Canning College, scoring high in all semesters, highest marks in mathematics and statistics and various other categories.She is followed by Ram Shanker Mishra, Vartika Singh and Namita Dixit.The second highest individual medal winner, Ram Shankar Mishra won seven medals being the highest scorer in law department, scoring high in all semesters and in other categories.Winning six medals each, Namrata and Vartika share the third spot among highest individual medal winners and topped in MA, Ancient Indian History, and MSc, physics , respectively."Students have been given 5 days to raise objection after which final medal list will be released.
