Musahar brothers did not die of hunger Yogi

GORAKHPUR: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath refuted the reports of two brothers from Musahar community in Kushinagar dying of hunger and said that they had died due to tuberculosis “The two brothers of Musahar community in Kushinagar didn’t die of hunger. Soon, we will make 100-bed neonatal ward.”CM Yogi also visited the ‘ Kusthashram’ (home for leprosy patients) and said, “ Our gvernment is providing house to every leprosy patient. “Our government has provided house, ration card and job card to members of Musahar community and the administration is investigating the cause of the deaths. We are also trying to give improve facilities at the home for leprosy patients.” The NICU is equipped with best facilities and it is extremely beneficial for newborns who are born underweight.

They had ration cards and their death was due to tuberculosis. Probe is under way to find out whether they got free tuberculosis treatment that is available under Directly Observed Treatment Short-course (DOTS) for TB patients,” CM Yogi said on Monday during his visit to Gorakhpur district hospital. “Our government has provided house, ration card and job card to members of Musahar community and the administration is investigating the cause of the deaths. It has been found during probe that the family had a ration card. The government is working to ensure that the benefits of welfare schemes reach the last man of the society,” CM said.“Not only Musahars, we also worked for Vantangia community people and provided revenue village status to their villages for the first time after independence. We provided them houses, electricity connections and built roads on priority,” he added. Yogi inspected the women’s hospital also and enquired about the health of the newborns and issued directions on maintaining cleanliness.Enumerating achievements of his government, CM Yogi said, “A 20 bed neonatal incentive care unit (NICU) ward equipped with best facilities was set up at women district hospital by us and I am very happy that it has started functioning. The NICU is equipped with best facilities and it is extremely beneficial for newborns who are born underweight. Soon, we will make 100-bed neonatal ward.”CM Yogi also visited the ‘ Kusthashram’ (home for leprosy patients) and said, “ Our gvernment is providing house to every leprosy patient. We are also trying to give improve facilities at the home for leprosy patients.”
