Mayawatis snub aside Congress props Bhim Army chief Chandrashekhar Azad

Mayawati, who visited the village, had then distanced herself from the Bhim army supporters while slamming them for inflicting violence in the region.Masood, on the other hand, not only advocated for the release of Azad but also visited the latter's village along with party MLA Masood Akhtar and Naresh Saini in Saharanpur. Azad, in turn, called Masood as his brother while calling for a 'Dalit-Muslim' unity.Masood said that Chandrashekhar had a great respect for Mayawati. But her statement against him has shattered our hopes,'' he told TOI. He also accused the BJP of spreading canards to break the prospective grand alliance of opposition parties.
