MEERUT: In a brand new avatar, Rajya Sabha member Amar Singh on Tuesday invoked ‘Hindutva’ while attacking his arch political rival Azam Khan and said that if Hindus are not united they will be butchered by the likes of the SP leader.“Agar Hindu batega to Azam Khan jaise logon ke haathon katega (If Hindu is divided, he will be butchered at the hands of the likes of Azam Khan). You are more concerned about rising oil prices, but let me tell you that oil is not extracted at Modiji’s home. It comes from abroad and we have to pay for that. Besides, what will you do of this oil if you are not alive? At least, in Modi-Yogi raj, daughters of Hindus are safe.”The appeal by Singh came as a shocker to people who have seen him in a liberal avatar so far.“When our Hindu daughters were harassed, it was the same Azam Khan who told police not to file FIR. Don’t give political colour to my statement, I am not against Muslims. We have great respect for freedom fighter Ashfaq Ullah Khan, for Abdul Hameed, for Dr Abdul Kalam,” he told people during his ‘FIR yatra’ in Bulandshahr.“But, we are against those Muslims who live here but admire Pakistan. Such Muslims have no place in India and must leave,” he said in the same breath.
