Woman tries to kill self over land dispute

LUCKNOW: A woman tried to immolate herself in front of Lok Bhawan under Hazratganj police station on Tuesday over a land dispute by dousing herself with with kerosene . The police personnel posted in the high-security zone rushed towards her and snatched the kerosene bottle. The attempt was, however, foiled by police who acted promptly.The incident took place at around 2.30pm when a woman identified as Aasma Khatun (32) reached in front of Lok Bhawan with a bottle and poured kerosene over herself. She was taken to Hazratganj police station where policemen assured her of prompt action on her complaint.Hazratganj SHO Radha Raman Singh said that Aasma, a resident of Madiaon, revealed that one Kamlesh Kumari had given her land but now she is demanding money.
