Night temp rises due to pollution levels: Met

Now, high pollution levels are leading to rise in temperatures in the night. LUCKNOW: After remaining below normal for a week, night temperatures have been rising for the past two day due to high pollution levels and break in flow of cold winds from snowfed mountains. The rise in mercury levels in the night started from Tuesday when minimum temperature was 14.2 degrees Celsius, a degree above normal. But the minimum temperature was 16.8 degrees Celsius, three degrees above normal. No significant change is expected on Thursday.The maximum temperature on Wednesday was 29.4 degrees Celsius, which Met officials said was normal at this time.

As a result, temperatures are rising," said director, climate monitoring cell, LU, Prof Dhruv Sen Singh
