UP 2 teens held for kidnapping boy in Allahabad

ALLAHABAD: Two teenage boys were held by the police on Monday on charge of kidnapping a class Vth student from Chaukhandi under the limits of Kydganj police station on Sunday evening.Interestingly, the teenage kidnappers , inspired by a Bollywood flick to kidnap the minor, used Mumbai dialect while seeking ransom from the victim’s father. The teenage kidnappers had broken the SIM with an intention that police would not be able to trace their location.The ASP also claimed that one of the kidnappers was earlier staying near the victim’s house and took the advantage of his proximity with the boy to lure him in their trap. The greed for money had forced them to execute the crime, police claimed.The kidnappers, aged about 16 and 17 years respectively, had sought a Rs 5 lakh ransom from the father of the victim who works as a civil contractor in Prayagraj Nagar Nigam Additional SP (Kydganj) Sukirti Madhav said, “Two teenage kidnappers, hailing from neighbouring Reewa (Madhya Pradesh) and currently residing at Nai Basti in Kydganj area, had kidnapped Vaibhav Kumar Tiwari , 12, from Chaukhandi area in the limits of Kydganj police station when he was standing near his house on Sunday evening.”He added, “Vaibhav’s father Ashish Kumar Tiwari approached Kydganj police on Sunday evening alleging that he had received a ransom call from an unidentified caller, who claimed to have abducted his son and sought Rs 5 lakh ransom to release him.After taking the help of electronic surveillance, the police traced the location of the kidnappers and abducted the child near Handia road and managed to rescue him from the abductors.Madhav added that one of the kidnappers, aged 17 years, was a student of class XIIth at a city school while the other, aged about 16 years, was a class VIIIth passout.The police have also recovered a bike and the mobile used for making the ransom call from their possession.
