AGRA: A man gruesomely murdered his 10-month-old boy in a fit of drunken rage as the infant was crying for food. The incident took place in Mitholi village of Baijana area under Naujhil police jurisdiction on Tuesday morning. The man was arrested in Mathura.According to a source, Raju, the accused, crushed his son Omveer’s legs before strangulating and flinging him to the floor, killing the infant. Raju was booked under section 302 (murder) of the IPC, after his father-in-law Kali Charan, a resident of Bichpuri village under Tappal police jurisdiction of Aligarh filed a written complaint with police.Speaking to TOI, Shyam Singh, station house officer of Naujhil said, “Raju is an alcoholic. He brutally killed his son and also assaulted his three-year-old daughter Anjali, who was rescued by the neighbours. The victim’s body has been sent for post-mortem.”Fed up with her husband’s depravity, Raju’s wife Munni Devi had been living at her parents’ home along with the two kids, said local sources. Raju eventually decided to bring his family back home. On Monday, on their way back, Raju assaulted his wife in public and the latter left him once again. This time, she left the children behind with Raju.Naresh, one of Raju’s neighbours said, “It was around 10 pm. Raju was heavily inebriated and his two starving children were crying for food. We brought the children to our home and gave them milk and other eatables. We asked Raju to come back for his children when he was sober. At around 4 am on Tuesday, Raju barged into our home and demanded that we return the children to him. He was drunk and started verbally abusing us. The 10-month-old was still crying for mother’s milk when instead of placating him, Raju stood on his son’s legs and crushed them. He later flung him to the ground, killing him.”
