LUCKNOW: A National Green Tribunal committee has found that Lucknow Municipal Corporation has not shut its four garbage transfer stations as it had claimed.Uttar Pradesh Solid Waste Management Monitoring Committee (UPSWMMC), constituted by NGT , found that LMC is flouting rules on waste transfer.On Tuesday, the committee sent a notice to LMC saying that “unauthorized garbage dumping” including solid and biomedical waste should be stopped at its four garbage transfer stations — Ghaila ghat, Malpur, Priyadarshini colony in Faizullganj and Gomtinagar by December 31.“LMC had claimed that it had shut all waste transfer sites, but we got a number of public complaints and a survey conducted again on December 8 found that fresh solid waste was being brought to Ghaila ghat and Gomtinagar,” said UPSWMMC secretary and retired judge Rajendra Singh.Singh added: “We have another round of meeting with the parties on December 17 at the environment directorate and will conduct another survey of the same spots.
