3day celebrations on Vajpayees birth anniv

LUCKNOW: Having named roads, auditorium and cricket stadium in the name of late PM Atal Bihari Vajapyee, the Yogi government is set to recreate Atal charishma by holding grand celebrations on his birth anniversary on December 25. Plans are afoot to organise debates, exhibitions, seminars, documentaries and symposiums in all government colleges and universities .The three-day celebrations will begin on December 24.UP chief secretary Anoop Pandey directed the culture department to organise the celebrations.Under 'Paint my city' campaign, the city walls would be painted with portraits of Atal Bihari Vajpayee in different moods and shades.A play "Statesman Atal", depicting the life of the BJP stalwart, is being staged with record 300 artists," said director, Ayodhya Shodh Sansthan, YP Singh.A 'kavi sammelan' will be held in Lucknow where poet-politician Kumar Vishwas will recite poems.The culture department has asked colleges and universities to also involve NSS volunteers in the celebrations.
