Man kills sisterinlaw over property dispute

AGRA: A man in Kasganj killed his widow sister-in-law with a shovel over property dispute and fired shots at the victim's sister, leaving her grievously injured.The incident took place in Kuberpur village of Sahawar police jurisdiction late on Monday night. After his brother Hetram died last week, the accused assumed that his brother's widow Rekha would transfer the property, including 3.5 bigha land. ""He also shot at Sanju Devi who witnessd the murder of Rekha," he added. After heated argument, the accused attacked the victim with shovel and killed her. Identified as Rekha (45), the victim's body was sent for post-mortem, while her younger sister Sanju Devi , who was shot at her shoulder and head, was admitted in a hospital.

The accused, Roshan, have been booked under sections 302 (murder) and 307 (attempt to murder) of the IPC.Circle officer of Sahawar Indraprakash Singh said, "The accused Roshan is a history-sheeter who served jail term for kidnapping and extortion. After his brother Hetram died last week, the accused assumed that his brother's widow Rekha would transfer the property, including 3.5 bigha land. Hetram didn't have any child the land was registered on Sanju Devi's children name. After heated argument, the accused attacked the victim with shovel and killed her.""He also shot at Sanju Devi who witnessd the murder of Rekha," he added.
