3 men steal excavator from NCR, caught in Kasganj

AGRA: In a bid to make some quick bucks, three men in their mid-20s stole an excavator from national capital region and drove all the way to Kasganj covering nearly 200 km to sell Rs 30 lakh worth muscle machine used mostly at construction site. This triggered a curiosity, as neither of the men was a contractor or real estate developer. After verifying the details of machine, it was established that excavator recovered from three was the same one stolen from Ghaziabad.Three were booked under IPC sections 379 and 411, and sent to jail. They used the machine for several days to earn some money and later decided to sell it off for Rs 7 lakh and initiated a hunt for possible customer.”During cross examination with Indirapuram police of Ghaziabad, we found that an FIR of stolen excavator was lodged against unknown person.

However, their luck ran out after local police was tipped off and the trio were nabbed with the excavator.Identified as Rahul Singh (23), Vipin Singh (24) and Anekpal Singh (25), the three daily wage labour hailed from Kasganj’s Amapur and Sungadi area.Station house officer of Amapur Mukesh Solanki, whose team caught the trio, said, “We were tipped off about three men who were finding a customer to sell Rs 30 lakh worth excavator for merely Rs 7 lakh. This triggered a curiosity, as neither of the men was a contractor or real estate developer. Therefore we detained the trio and during questioning, we found that they have stolen the big machine.”Officer Solanki said, “One of the gang member, Rahul, who had worked in Ghaziabad as an excavator driver for private contractor, hatched a plan along with Vipin and Anekpal to steal the excavator from his former employer.
