LUCKNOW: In a last-ditch attempt to make it into the top 10 cities in the Swachha Survey being conducted by the Union ministry of urban development, Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) will be spending over Rs 5 crore in the next one fortnight.LMC has hired a private company for mechanized sweeping of major roads measuring 52 km till January 31, the period during which a central team is expected to visit the city for on the spot verification of the work done by LMC. The machines mounted on two trucks will clean roads every alternate day.“The machines have started working.
