Chill to subside but brace for thundershowers next week

However, the WD will cut off the cold air flowing from mountains to plains, leading to gradual rise in temperatures in the city till Monday. The same WD is expected to move further and cause rains and thunderstorms in the northern plains from Monday till Wednesday. There was moderate to dense fog in parts of the city on Thursday morning.

LUCKNOW: There will be a brief respite from cold after the minimum temperature dropped below normal on Thursday, with the weatherman predicting a gradual rise in mercury up to 4 degrees Celsius till Monday, followed by cloudy sky and thunderstorm on Tuesday and Wednesday.Clear skies led to a drop in mercury level in night and the minimum temperature dipping to 6.6 degree Celsius, a degree below normal. There was moderate to dense fog in parts of the city on Thursday morning. However, the fog cleared by 10am as bright sunshine turned the day warm and comfortable. The maximum temperature in city was 22.9 degree Celsius, a degree above normal.State Met officials said that similar weather conditions are expected on Friday.
