LUCKNOW: Newly appointed Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's roadshow in Lucknow triggered a mixed response from the political parties. While Samajwadi Party reiterated its earlier stance of welcoming political activity and described the roadshow as a 'good move', the Bharatiya Janata Party dismissed the event as "chor show" (show of thieves). "It is good that political parties are doing what they were supposed to do ... That its Congress party's roadshow is even better," Akhilesh Yadav said when asked to comment on the big draw that the event was. He said the entire Gandhi-Vadra family is out on bail and people of Lucknow had come to see people who were behind the Rs 12 lakh crore scam during the previous Congress-led UPA regime. Asked if it could lead to a triangular contest in Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh said Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party and other parties have joined hands to remove BJP from power and that he would appeal to the people to support this alliance.Meanwhile, reacting to Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's roadshow, UP cabinet minister and state government spokesperson Sidharth Nath Singh said that the BJP would call it a 'chor show' (show of thieves).
