UP board: 4 from copying mafia nabbed in Mathura

AGRA: Mathura police in coordination with Special Task Force (STF) arrested four persons including the principal of Madhusudan Inter College for allegedly indulging in cheating by solving question papers of English of UP Board’s high school examination on Thursday morning.According to police, STF had received inputs of cheating being allowed at an examination with the help of college staff and principal. In the morning shift, when the police reached the institute in civil dress, they caught a person with a bundle of 18 pre-written copies, which were being taken inside to replace with students’ copies, who had made payments for the same.Education officials said that they have recommended cancellation of the English exam of this centre to the UP Board Sub-inspector Manoj Sharma at Mahawan police station told TOI that the principal of Inter College in Gokul, who is also centre incharge, Sri Krishan Sharma, a teacher Tinku, college manager’s son Aakash Sharma and a peon, Suresh, have been booked under sections 420 (cheating), 467 (Forgery of valuable security), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating), 471 (using as genuine a forged document) of IPC and under section 3/4, 6/9 of UP public examinations (prevention of unfair means) 1998.Sharma said that around Rs 10-20,000 were being charged per student by the suspects for helping them change their answer sheets.
