Kushinagar resident dies of swine flu in Lucknow hospital

LUCKNOW: A Kushinagar resident, suffering from swine flu, died at a private medical facility in Lucknow on Thursday, taking the toll to nine in the state since January 1.Also, swine flu cases in the city crossed the 100 mark with 10 more patients testing postive on Thursday. Health officials said all 10 positive cases reported in the city were recuperating in isolation at their homes.In all, 35 fresh cases were reported from across the state on Thursday, taking the tally to 572 this year. Of total 104 H1N1 cases this year, 75 have been reported in February alone. Five patients were under treatment in various hospitals in the state capital.Cases reported in Lucknow included a 28-year-old woman from Jankipuram, a 48-year-old woman from Raja Bazaar, a 41-year-old patient from Gomti Nagar extension, a 31-year-old from Halwasiya apartment, a 39-year-old from Vinay Khand in Gomti Nagar, a 66-year-old man from Husainabad, a 62-year-old woman from Pooja Vihar Colony, a 30-year-old woman from PGI campus, another from Kalki Colony and a five-year-old boy from Alambagh.In the state, maximum number of positive cases of 193 have been reported from Meerut so far, followed by 107 from Ghaziabad.
