Lucknow: 7 new swine flu cases in a day

LUCKNOW: Seven new cases of swine flu took the city's tally to 118 for this year on Saturday. All seven cases belong to the mild category of swine flu and patients were therefore isolated at home. Health department spokesperson Dr SK Saxena said the need was of prevention as there was no vaccine for swine flu. "The severe kind of swine flu can be a potential risk to life. Since there are no vaccines, prevention becomes a life-saving measure," he said.

Health experts said prevention included saving oneself from sudden change of temperature, washing hands regularly with soap, consuming fresh food, following basic hand hygiene, especially before eating, among others.Pregnant women, children and the elderly suffering from any kind of disease are at a higher risk of such seasonal infections.
